Description

Connection of planning systems that provides standardized hand-over information for all transportation modes (SWL, block trains etc) to ease transport planning, standardization of first and last mile (infrastructure, siding information, locations)

Use Case

  1. Provision of reliable international transport ETA
  2. Digital connecting of several different transportation modes in one transport planning chain

Preconditions

  • Available location data with good data quality
  • Standardized process on path planning data

If all involved partners (especially the “last mile”) to the RFF/platform perform in the proposed way, this (planning) should be, as well as current information (e.g. ETA), one main-result of the data hub functionality. Already known from B2C standards in the transport (parcel) segment, this will be very relevant for customer satisfaction to give details about the planned transport (here: time but as well probable changes to the expected quality are relevant). Although direct customer/B2B-access is not core functionality, this should be one additional (indeed smart) service for them – very important as it is close to indirect commercial aspects of the entire initiative. Therefor the technical barrier for this service to let everyone participate should not be too high. Probably the current location of the wagon is not as important as the information as there are discrepancies to the original plan/customer order.
